A continuation of ASHNW, Get low probes the position of black woman in society. "Starting from the female slave, via the the assexual mammie figure, to the hypersexual hip hop vixen, the image of the black women has been highly standardized to the highest the degrees of lowness." Indeed, black women have been wrongly encapsulated into a singular narrative. Get low amplifies the absurdity of this narrative by displaying on a loop images of women twerking taken from popular hip hop music videos. These videos were first published on a webpage which was then translated into flipped books.
